    Senior IT Sourcing Manager (Network & Telecom)

    Role Summary/Purpose 

    This role is responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities across all aspects of GE Vernova’s IT Category Management for the Network & Telecom commodity. This role requires strategic ownership of all-encompassing category spend, developing strategies to reduce total cost of ownership – including vendor management, demand management, and governance / compliance – to achieve initial TCO reduction and ongoing year-over-year improvements, utilizing an understanding of industry trends to inform the decision-making process. This role will work with the IT Sourcing leadership to set strategy, coordinate sourcing efforts and policy, and execute initiatives. This role will also involve partnering with GE Vernova functional stakeholders in IT, Finance, Legal, Business Sourcing, Operations, Supply-Chain, Corporate, and other functions to drive TCO reduction while delivering excellent service levels to the organization. 

     

    Essential Responsibilities 

    • Oversee development and execution of strategies through the sourcing process for the specific Category including strategy, market analysis, negotiation process (RFXs), supplier selection and contract creation, and buy channel management 
    • Work with Vendor Management Office to monitor strategy implementation to ensure benefit realization 
    • Negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies to achieve the best contractual conditions while ensuring internal customer satisfaction 
    • Drive value through supplier relationship management 
    • Utilize an understanding of industry trends to inform the decision-making process  
    • Develop expertise within function by growing reputation within organization, providing professional and thought leadership, influencing policy, and ensuring delivery within own function while linking with other functions of the organization 
    • Present business solutions to leaders in functional area  
    • Driving demand management and compliance for other IT categories (e.g., number of application licenses, application alternatives, number and specs of personal devices, preferred vendor penetration) 
    • Working closely with IT Requisitioning Process for assigned spend categories 
    • Lead and manage a team of sourcing professionals to achieve objectives 
    • Serve as trusted advisor to multi-functional stakeholder teams to design and implement specific strategic sourcing initiatives to meet business requirements and priorities 
    • Driving best practices 
    • Measuring and tracking internal performance within each spend category 
    • Champion and secure TCO reductions for your category 
    • Monitoring strategy implementation to ensure benefit realization 

    Qualifications/Requirements 

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college 
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in IT, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, or equivalent consulting experience 
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing teams and demonstrating ability to lead large scale organizational, process, and culture changes 
    • For roles not in USA, this role requires significant experience comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience) 
    • For roles in USA, this role requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in job family group/function) 

    Desired Characteristics 

    • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing, IT Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering 
    • Category management / sourcing experience in a multinational company 
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 
    • Ability to attract and retain talent  
    • Strong analytical skills (spend analytics, should-cost analysis, market R&I) and proven track record to resolve problems 
    • Demonstrated negotiations skills 
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
    • Strong project management skills 
    • History with supply base consolidation
