Senior Finance Manager at BFREE Africa

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Senior Finance Manager at BFREE, you will play a critical role in leading all aspects of finance internally. Reporting directly to the CFO or CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing accounting, controlling, taxation, audit, and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving strategic financial initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of internal finance operations, including accounting, controlling, taxation, audit, and financial reporting across several countries and markets.
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership and support decision-making processes.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Monitor financial performance and prepare regular financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and drive operational efficiency.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that may impact the company's financial operations.
• Other job-related duties assigned by CEO

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ICAN) preferred.
• Proven experience in a senior finance management role, preferably in audit/taxation or the fintech or banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements; IFRS 9 knowledge will be important for this role!
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate and interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
