    Senior Accountant

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
    • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
    • Perform bank, customer, and supplier reconciliations.
    • Process invoices, debit notes, and payment schedules.
    • Monitor premium collections and outstanding client balances.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension, etc.).
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Maintain proper accounting documentation and filing systems.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely financial reporting.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
    • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or ACA) is an added advantage. Part qualification may also be considered.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years relevant accounting experience.
    • Experience in an HMO, healthcare organization, insurance company, or financial services sector is preferred.

    Required Skills

    • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles.
    • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, financial reporting).
    • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    Preferred Competencies

    • Knowledge of HMO operations, premium management, capitation, and claims accounting.
    • Experience preparing management reports and financial analysis.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Good organizational and time-management skills.
