Senior Accountant at Roqqu Nigeria Limited

Job Summary:

• We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, controls, and digital asset accounting within a regulated fintech environment.
• This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across fiat and digital asset activities, supporting audits, strengthening the control framework, and coaching and supervising junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Ledger Management

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain general ledger integrity across:
• Digital asset holdings and transactions- Trading activities and fees- Wallet and custody balances- Revenue recognition
• Apply IFRS-compliant accounting treatment for digital assets.
• Prepare audit schedules and support external audit processes

Digital Asset Accounting & Reconciliation Oversight

• Review and validate wallet and exchange reconciliations.
• Ensure alignment between:
  • Blockchain transaction records- Internal accounting records
  • Exchange and custodian statements
• Monitor accounting treatment for asset valuation and impairment

Internal Controls & Compliance Support

• Implement and monitor financial controls for digital asset handling.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and transaction trails
• Support regulatory reporting requirements applicable to digital asset operations in
• Nigeria, including submissions aligned with expectations of:
  • Central Bank of Nigeria
  • Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria
• Support AML/CFT financial reporting requirements.

Treasury Support

• Monitor crypto and fiat balances across wallets, exchanges, and bank accounts
• Support treasury reporting and liquidity monitoring.
• Track transaction fees, spreads, and operational costs

Team Leadership & Development

• Coach and supervise subordinates
• Review work output and provide technical guidance.
• Promote adherence to accounting standards and documentation discipline

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• ACA / ACCA / ICAN (required).
• 4–5 years of accounting experience (fintech or financial services preferred).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
