Secondary School Laboratory Assistant at Spring of Life and Fountain of Wisdom Schools

Responsibilities:

• Support science teachers in preparing, organizing, and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Ensure the laboratory is clean, safe, and well-stocked at all times, adhering strictly to safety protocols and school policies.
• Assist in the setup and demonstration of experiments, and provide hands-on guidance to students during practical sessions when required.
• Manage inventory of lab supplies, including chemicals, glassware, and other equipment, and promptly report shortages or damage.
• Safely dispose of chemical waste and biohazard materials in accordance with environmental and health regulations.
• Label and store specimens and chemical substances correctly to maintain an organized and functional lab environment.
• Keep accurate records of laboratory usage, incidents, and maintenance schedules.
• Assist in coordinating annual science fairs, project displays, and practical exam setups.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, students, and administrators to promote safe and effective practical learning.

Requirements:

• A practicing Christian, with a deep commitment to Christian values and principles.
• Minimum of a National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Science Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
• Previous experience working in an educational laboratory or similar setting is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, scientific equipment, and basic safety standards.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills for managing lab materials and documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with teaching staff and students.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow technical instructions accurately.
