    Sales Manager

    Role Overview

    • The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by leading the sales team, generating new business opportunities, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
    • The role requires an individual with a strong marketing mindset who can actively seek new clients beyond inbound calls.
    • The Sales Manager will set clear targets for the team, ensure consistent performance, and foster a professional, customer-centric culture.
    • The ideal candidate should have prior experience in the events and rentals industry (or related sectors), be impressionable, trustworthy, passionate about sales, and capable of balancing patience with assertiveness when handling business.

    Key Responsibilities
    Leadership & Team Management:

    • Supervise, mentor, and motivate two Sales Executives (including one Team Lead).
    • Assign individual monthly sales targets, monitor progress, and ensure accountability.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
    • Foster a culture of professionalism, customer service, and results-driven performance.
    • Ensure the sales team is adequately trained and kept up to date on industry trends, pricing strategies, and best practices.

    Sales & Marketing:

    • Actively generate new business opportunities through field marketing, client visits, networking, and partnerships.
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote rental services (generators, light towers, and other assets).
    • Build and maintain long-term client relationships with a customer-first approach.
    • Represent the company at events, exhibitions, and industry gatherings to expand visibility.
    • Track competitors’ activities and propose strategies to stay ahead in the market.

    Business Development & Customer Relations:

    • Identify and pursue new market segments, particularly in events, construction, and corporate sectors.
    • Ensure client needs are understood and delivered with professionalism and courtesy.
    • Handle escalated client issues with diplomacy and effective problem-solving.
    • Maintain a high standard of presentation and service delivery that reflects the company’s values.

    Daily Responsibilities:

    • Review sales inquiries and allocate leads to team members.
    • Conduct follow-ups with potential and existing clients.
    • Supervise the sales team’s daily activities, providing support where needed.
    • Track progress toward individual and team targets.
    • Ensure professionalism and customer satisfaction in all interactions.

    Monthly Responsibilities:

    • Set and communicate clear sales targets for each team member.
    • Review sales performance and prepare monthly sales reports.
    • Conduct training sessions to address knowledge gaps and improve skills.
    • Update management on sales pipeline, client feedback, and market conditions.
    • Plan and execute monthly sales campaigns and marketing initiatives.

    Quarterly Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate overall team performance and adjust strategies to meet targets.
    • Present quarterly sales reports to management, including achievements, challenges, and projections.
    • Review and update pricing, marketing strategies, and sales processes as needed.
    • Organize team workshops on customer service, negotiation skills, and industry updates.
    • Assess and refresh the sales team’s knowledge of industry trends, emerging markets, and competitor activities.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    Sales Performance:

    • Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
    • Percentage of team members meeting or surpassing their individual sales goals.
    • Growth in new customer acquisition compared to previous periods.

    Business Development:

    • Number of new business leads generated monthly.
    • Percentage of new leads successfully converted to paying clients.
    • Expansion into at least one new market segment quarterly.

    Customer Relations:

    • Customer retention rate and repeat business levels.
    • Average customer satisfaction score (from feedback surveys or follow-ups).
    • Number of escalated client issues resolved within 48 hours.

    Team Management & Training:

    • Frequency and quality of monthly training sessions conducted.
    • Improvement in team performance after coaching and training.
    • Staff turnover rate within the sales team.

    Reporting & Accountability:

    • Timeliness and accuracy of monthly and quarterly sales reports.
    • Effectiveness of sales campaigns and marketing strategies (measured by ROI).
    • Compliance with company processes, documentation, and reporting standards.

    Job Specification

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
    • Prior experience in the events/rentals industry is highly desirable.
