Safeguarding Officer at Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) Nigeria

Job Description

• The Safeguarding Officer is responsible for; risk management; and promoting safe practice in line with Safeguarding Policy; Data protection policy; Environmental Health and Safety policy and sector-wide recommendations.
• The position will be responsible for liaising with partner organizations and staff to provide them with required resources, capacity building and training. 
• Develop and update Safeguarding Policy; Data protection policy; Environmental Health and Safety policy for CcHUB.
• Identify risks and work with key internal and external stakeholders to minimize any risks of harm, exploitation, and abuse.
• Provide expert advice and educate employees & developers on important compliance requirements.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance and to address potential issues/risk.
• Support the People Team to strengthen our safe recruitment practice and minimize risks.
• Organize and co-facilitate relevant training for employees & developers.
• Periodically prepare and share infographic and videos on updated policies and procedures.
• Lead on work with relevant internal stakeholders to design safeguarding evaluation and monitoring tools.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of safe practices in the sector.
• Identify areas for improvement in our practice and provide support on projects.
• Support on incident management, analysis, and report

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Safeguarding, Data Protection, environmental regulations, and policies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, Master’s degree also desirable.
• 3- 5 years of related experience preferred.
