Ensure compliance with the project’s operational governance specifications, ensuring a balanced and inclusive representation of all stakeholders and guaranteeing a localized partnership approach and governance;
Define and lead a framework for operational functioning, steering, and governance between implementing partners - according to the defined global vision;
Coordinate and facilitate information sharing between stakeholders (partners, authorities, beneficiaries, teams);
Coordination and facilitation of communication between implementing partners to ensure harmonized and coordinated management of activities;
The implementation of the project’s partnership approach (building balanced partnerships, its monitoring and regular evaluation);
Being the focal point for the preparation of missions by project stakeholders outside the team (Groupe URD experts, regional office staff, etc.) and liaise with the team and implementing organizations;
Planning and monitoring the national implementation of the project activities, its evaluation and its internal and external accountability - by putting in place the necessary mechanisms for project planning and management (meetings, tools, etc.);
Validation of key milestones and implementation methodologies, in coordination with the country offices (Action Against Hunger, CARE, etc.) and the regional office;
Undertake field missions/visits to assess the conditions of implementation of activities;
The technical compliance of the project with the international technical rules, guidelines and standards defined jointly by the country office and regional office experts;
Encourage the overall quality of project implementation in order to maximize impact, in particular by supporting the deployment of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) within the project with partners;
Actively promote meaningful community participation and consultation at all stages of the project cycle;
Ensure communication with donors (AFD/EUD), in coordination with the implementing organizations and according to the defined operating framework;
Develop and maintain a network of good external relations with local and traditional authorities, sectorial ministries at State level (and Federal level if relevant);
Participate in the recruitment and integration of project staff, in consultation with the implementing organizations;
Manage staff under direct supervision within the Consortium Coordination Unit to create an enabling environment for the effective implementation of project activities.
Encourage gender mainstreaming during all recruitment processes for partner staff and during project implementation.
Position Requirements:
A university degree or equivalent;
Level of completed higher education (Postgraduate or above) in project management development (a priority), advocacy or humanitarian studies, international relations or political science.
Professional experience of 5 years in coordinating development activities (a priority) or humanitarian activities in a complex environment.
Experience in coordinating a development project.
Experience in insecure / relatively isolated setting
Advanced knowledge of donors’ guidelines and procedures (AFD/EUD)
Professional experience in supervision of technical teams and management of and in a consortium will be given positive consideration.
Fluent English speaker, knowledge of French would also be an asset.
