Role Description

• We are seeking a strategic, commercial-minded Head of Research to lead and manage the firm’s research function. The role is responsible for setting the research agenda, producing high-quality market, equity, fixed income, and macroeconomic research, and providing actionable insights to support investment banking, asset management, and proprietary investment decisions. The Head of Research will oversee research analysts, ensure methodological rigor, and act as a thought leader engaging internal stakeholders, regulators, and external clients. .

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or related discipline
• Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Finance/Economics) is a strong advantage
• Deep knowledge of capital markets, valuation, and financial analysis
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in Research, Investment Banking, Asset Management, or Capital Markets
• Minimum 4–6 years in a research leadership or senior analyst role
• Proven track record of producing institutional-grade research
• Experience interacting with regulators, institutional investors, and senior executives
• CFA Charter holder (strongly preferred)
• ACA / ACCA / CPA
• Other relevant market certifications

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the research strategy and annual research agenda
• Lead, mentor, and performance-manage the research team
• Oversee production of equity, fixed income, macroeconomic, and sector research
• Ensure research outputs meet regulatory, ethical, and professional standards
• Provide investment insights to support M&A, capital raising, trading, and portfolio decisions
• Review and approve research reports, valuation models, and forecasts
• Engage clients, institutional investors, regulators, and media as a subject-matter expert
• Collaborate with Investment Banking, Trading, and Asset Management teams
• Strong strategic and commercial orientation
• High ethical standards and commitment to research independence
• Ability to translate complex data into clear insights
• Strong people management and coaching capability
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
