Regional Agribusiness Coordinator - North at Wema Bank Plc

JOB PURPOSE

• The Regional Agribusiness Coordinator will oversee the identification and development of the Bank’s agric/export business in the Northeast and Northwest of the Bank but seated in Kano.
• The incumbent will ensure that the all activities in the branches within the region in alignment with the Bank’s objectives.

RESPONSIBILTIES

• Provide specialist support to all zones and SBUs within their assigned regions in the prospecting of agribusiness clients, marketing of agribusiness banking products, customer conversion and relationship management.
• Drive the growth and profitability of the Bank’s Agribusiness banking franchise by working with SBUs in their assigned regions to achieve the budget for agribusiness across the Bank.
• Conduct agribusiness appraisal visits, produce specialist appraisal reports and provide technical advice to all SBUs and credit officers within their assigned regions on the structuring and monitoring of all Agribusiness credits.
• Undertake quality consultative conversations with clients within their assigned regions, in order to understand their needs and identify cross sell opportunities to distribute the Bank's Agribusiness products and service offerings.
• Actively build the Bank’s Agribusiness Banking franchise by increasing awareness and market presence in their assigned regions.
• Act as focal person for agricultural and livelihood activities in the assigned region of operation

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Below are qualifications and skills required to work as the Regional Agric Business Coordinator:

• A bachelor’s degree in A Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Veterinary Medicine, Plant Sciences, Economics, Banking and Finance, Business Administration or any other relevant field.
• A Masters’ degree in the areas outlined above will be an asset
• At least 5 years of work experience in banking and finance, business development, marketing, consulting, project management etc, including at least 3 years in Agric finance, agribusiness development and marketing in a reputable bank or financial institution.
• Preference will be given to those with experience in agribusiness development
