Quality Assurance / Quality Control Officer (Catering) at Olman Business Solutions (OBS) Limited

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Objective

• Responsible for ensuring that food materials, products and storage meet standards set by both the company and regulatory authorities, manage approved vendor list to deliver real-time material supplies, develop and review quality and safety policies and manage audits by third-party inspectors.

Job Responsibilities

• Implementing quality systems / procedures in the organization to reduce rejections and ensure zero defect products.
• Ensure materials and products meet company’s quality standards and are delivered to clients in a safe condition.
• Monitoring adherence to quality systems and complying with Brand Standards, Governmental Controls and ISO quality standards and maintaining requisite documents.
• Work with Logistics to ensure trucks availability for food transport when necessary.
• Conduct inspection of raw and dry food materials, including reefers.
• Ensure that catering Contractors comply with the HACCP and HSE contract requirements.
• Ensure Suppliers are part of the quality system to facilitate seamlessly integration, bridge technology gap and enable constant communication across systems.
• Manage approved Supplier list to deliver real-time measurements of supplier and material performance.
• Managing and maintaining implementation of quality plant and food safety management systems to ensure all materials are stored in line with the required quality standards
• Organize the Food safety management System of the company, participate in the implementation of the duty and limits of authority in food safety and quality.
• Hold the training for the relevant personnel according the requirement of food safety management procedure.
• Conduct regular food safety inspections, HACCP Assessments and training.
• Regularly checking and assessing the operation situation of the food safety management system in the company, audit the differences between the actual implementation and standard requirements, and carry out the suggestion and requirement for improvement, in order to reduce and correct the difference between actuality and standard, to make sure the actual result and expected requirement are consistent.
• Regularly Monitor the Food Safety Management System for the suppliers.
• Regularly report operation situation, effect and result of the company’s food safety operational system.

Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Food Science or Food Technology
• Minimum of 4 years industrial catering and supply chain experience.
• HACCP Level 3 qualification or other food handling / safety qualifications.
• Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others.
• Willing to visit and work onshore and offshore when necessary.
• Excellent vendor management
• Excellent ability to interface with multiple groups, e.g. contractors, suppliers and end users.
• Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
• Excellent oral and written skills; ability to tailor ? to the audience.
• Very competent in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
