QA/QC Inspector at Scruples Resources

The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for carrying out quality inspection and verification activities on construction, engineering, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and related project activities. The role ensures that materials, workmanship, processes, and completed work comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, inspection and test plans, and project quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of construction, fabrication, installation, and maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.
• Verify that materials, equipment, components, and workmanship comply with approved specifications and quality requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and relevant quality documentation.
• Conduct inspections at various stages of work and identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
• Witness and document inspections, tests, measurements, and verification activities as required.
• Ensure inspection activities are properly recorded and documented.
• Monitor work activities to confirm compliance with approved drawings, procedures, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Identify and report quality issues and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Raise inspection reports, non-conformance reports, observation reports, and other quality documentation where required.
• Verify that corrective actions have been completed and that identified defects have been properly closed out.
• Review material certificates, test certificates, inspection records, and other quality documentation.
• Participate in quality audits, inspections, surveillance activities, and project quality meetings.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, subcontractor, and client representatives on quality-related matters.
• Support inspection of completed work and preparation of punch lists and close-out documentation.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure proper document control.
• Support preparation of quality reports and project quality dossiers.
• Ensure measuring and testing equipment used for inspection is suitable and appropriately calibrated.
• Participate in pre-inspection meetings, toolbox meetings, and quality-related discussions where required.
• Promote compliance with project quality requirements and applicable codes and standards.

Required Qualifications

• HND, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent technical qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant QA/QC or inspection certification is an advantage.
• Demonstrable experience in quality inspection within construction, engineering, fabrication, installation, manufacturing, maintenance, or related projects.
• Good knowledge of inspection and testing processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, ITPs, method statements, and quality procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable construction and engineering codes and standards relevant to the candidate’s area of specialization.
• Good report-writing and documentation skills.

Experience

• Relevant experience in QA/QC inspection activities.
• Experience conducting inspections and verifying compliance with project specifications.
• Experience identifying and documenting non-conformities and following up corrective actions.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary construction or engineering teams.
• Experience with project quality documentation and close-out dossiers is an advantage.
