Junior Engineer at A&R Group

Job Summary

A&R Properties is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Engineer to support the supervision, coordination and monitoring of its real estate development projects.

The successful candidate will assist in ensuring that construction activities are executed according to approved drawings, quality standards, project timelines and company specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision

• Monitor daily construction activities across assigned development sites.
• Ensure contractors and artisans execute work according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Assist in supervising structural works, finishing works and other construction activities.
• Identify and report construction defects, delays and technical challenges.

Project Monitoring and Coordination

• Monitor project progress to ensure construction milestones are achieved.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Assist in tracking project schedules and identifying potential delays.
• Provide regular updates on ongoing construction activities.

Quality Assurance and Control

• Inspect construction materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Assist in monitoring concrete works, reinforcement, blockwork, plumbing, electrical installations and finishing activities.
• Identify substandard work and recommend corrective measures to the supervising engineer.
• Ensure completed works meet approved project specifications.

Site Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare daily and weekly construction progress reports.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, material deliveries and workforce attendance.
• Document construction progress through photographs and written reports.
• Report site challenges requiring management attention.

Material and Cost Monitoring

• Monitor material usage to minimise wastage and unnecessary expenditure.
• Assist in verifying quantities of materials supplied to construction sites.
• Support material requisitions and inventory tracking.
• Report discrepancies in material usage or supply.

Health and Safety Compliance

• Monitor compliance with established construction safety procedures.
• Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify potential site hazards and report them promptly.
• Support the maintenance of safe and organised construction sites.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc. or HND in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in construction or real estate development.
• Basic knowledge of building construction processes and site supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently when assigned tasks and collaborate effectively with project teams.
• Willingness to visit and monitor multiple project sites when required.
