    Purchasing Officer

    Job Description

    • As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required for the smooth operation of the school.

    Responsibilities:

    • Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.
    • Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments, and receiving stock. Running errands to get the best sample and quality of products
    • Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
    • Performing inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary.
    • Conducting market research to keep abreast of emerging trends and business opportunities.
    • Inspecting stock and reporting any faulty items or inconsistencies immediately.
    • Coordinating with the delivery team and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled.
    • Ensuring all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location promptly.

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field is required.
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably in the education sector.
    • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
    • Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
