As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required for the smooth operation of the school.
Responsibilities:
Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.
Updating and maintaining records of all orders, payments, and receiving stock. Running errands to get the best sample and quality of products
Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
Performing inventory inspections and reordering supplies and stock as necessary.
Conducting market research to keep abreast of emerging trends and business opportunities.
Inspecting stock and reporting any faulty items or inconsistencies immediately.
Coordinating with the delivery team and following up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled.
Ensuring all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location promptly.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field is required.
At least 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably in the education sector.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
