    Project Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of a multi-disciplinary EPCM lump sum project in the Oil & Gas sector. Based in Port Harcourt, the role covers the entire project lifecycle from FEED/engineering through procurement, site execution, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and first gas/start-up.
    • The incumbent will provide leadership across all trades (Civil, Mechanical, E&I, Earthworks, and Communications), ensure adherence to contractual obligations, manage changes/variations, and negotiate effectively with the client (CPY).

    Responsibilities
    Project Management & Execution:

    • Develop and execute the Project Execution Plan (PEP) aligned with EPCM and lump sum contract requirements.
    • Oversee engineering deliverables, procurement strategy, construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
    • Drive safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery from engineering to first gas.
    • Ensure strict compliance with scope, quality standards, Nigerian regulations, and company policies.

    Contract & Commercial Management:

    • Manage lump sum EPCM contract obligations and ensure compliance with all terms.
    • Handle variations, claims, and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
    • Lead negotiations with the Client (CPY) on scope adjustments, extensions of time, and commercial settlements.
    • Monitor contract value, cash flow, and financial forecasts, ensuring profitability.

    Engineering & Technical Coordination:

    • Oversee multi-discipline engineering activities (civil, mechanical, piping, E&I, communications).
    • Ensure design integrity, constructability, operability, and maintainability.
    • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOP/HAZID workshops.

    Procurement & Supply Chain:

    • Manage procurement strategy and expediting of long-lead items.
    • Ensure vendor compliance with specifications, QA/QC standards, and Nigerian Content requirements (NCDMB).
    • Coordinate logistics, shipping, and delivery to site.

    Construction & Site Execution:

    • Supervise civil works, structural installations, mechanical assembly, piping, E&I works, and communications systems.
    • Oversee site management, subcontractors, SIMOPS, and interface management.
    • Ensure quality control, inspections, and adherence to ITPs.

    Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning & Start-Up:

    • Drive pre-commissioning and commissioning execution, including testing, punch-list clearance, and handover.
    • Ensure systems are completed, certified, and safely started up for first gas.
    • Manage interface with operations for smooth transition.

    HSE & Regulatory Compliance:

    • Promote Goal Zero culture; enforce HSE standards at all stages of project delivery.
    • Ensure compliance with Nigerian regulatory frameworks (NUPRC, NCDMB, NIPEX) and international standards (API, ASME, IEC, ISO).
    • Oversee incident investigations, corrective actions, and HSE audits.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Act as the single point of accountability with the Client (CPY) and project sponsors.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, JV partners, host communities, and subcontractors.
    • Provide clear reporting and communication to senior management and stakeholders.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead a multidisciplinary project team across engineering, construction, HSE, QA/QC, cost control, and commissioning.
    • Mentor and develop local Nigerian staff in line with local content targets.
    • Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • On-time delivery of project milestones up to first gas.
    • Cost adherence (within lump sum budget, with controlled variations).
    • Zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and strong HSE record.
    • Contract compliance and successful negotiation of variations/change orders.
    • Local content targets achieved (% man-hours, procurement, training).
    • Client satisfaction and stakeholder engagement scores.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, Electrical, or related).
    • 10–15 years’ project management experience in Oil & Gas EPCM/EPC projects, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record in managing lump sum contracts from engineering to first gas.
    • Strong knowledge of contract management, claims, variations, and client negotiations.
    • Certifications: PMP®, PRINCE2®, or equivalent (mandatory).
    • Experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, and project controls tools.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian regulations (NCDMB, NUPRC/DPR, NIPEX) and local content compliance.

    Core Competencies:
