Project Manager (Interior Architect) at Owens and Xley

Salary: N180,000-N250,000
Location    Lekki Phase 1

Job Summary    
The Project Manager/Interior Architect will coordinate and oversee the project life cycle of facilities related projects and will manage projects from conception through construction and completion. The Project Manager/Interior Architect is responsible for managing design related categories and will be the lead designer on some assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities     

• Manage design related categories including flooring, tiling, painting, plumbing and electrical fixtures.
• Oversee the architectural design and construction   efforts.
• Conduct market research, facilitate design review and build planning meetings.
• Approve design specifications and develop purchase justifications for materials where necessary.
• Report to the Managing Director on site activities including schedule, design & delivery.
• Ensure that the projects are carried out within budget schedule and quality expectation.
• Ensure deliverables are prepared to satisfy the project requirements, cost & schedule.
• Review drawings, project submittals, etc for document compliance; documenting code review and compliance; communicating and coordinating with management, and clients.
• Develop strategies to elevate the capabilities of the Production/Project team.
• Co-ordinate with clients and internal department for quotations and negotiation.
• Conduct weekly meeting with consultants /project team to establish constant communication on updates of all projects and other important announcements.
• Lead the operation team in the retail, offices.
• Maintain the working & safety procedure.
• Handle project submission and interior work processes.
• Coordinate sub-contractor and workers for the renovation work to final hand over to client.
• Maintain and establish close relations with clients and provide feedback to them.

Academic Qualifications    

• BA in Interior Architecture
• Building engineering (BEng ) or interior design and three to five years’ experience in design and space

Professional Certifications

• Expertise in layout, colour, lighting, materials selection, custom furniture and all installations.

Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs, eg. Photoshop, & project management programs, Microsoft Excel, Word , etc.
Experience     

• 5 years or more experience working in the field.
• Demonstrate fluency with basic residential and small-scale commercial building materials, details and construction techniques
• Proven working experience in interior architectural design (consultations, renovations, space planning, A&A & new constructions)

Competency and Skill Requirements    Technical skills

• At least 4 years working experience, including leadership in renovations, planning, project management, and facilities management.
• Proficient in home, office interior and renovation.
• Able to multi-task, work under pressure, independent also to meet tight deadlines
• Hardworking, committed, good attitude, patient and responsible.
• Good team player with strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skill
• Candidates must have excellent graphic, written and verbal communication skills and possess a strong desire to excel and lead in a fast paced, challenging and client-focused environment
