    Strategic Procurement

    • Establish and structure the procurement department to align with company growth and operational goals.
    • Design and implement procurement policies, SOPs, and systems to drive accountability, cost savings, and efficiency.
    • Develop strategies for sourcing raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, balancing cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
    • Introduce and implement tech-driven solutions (ERP, procurement software, e-marketplaces) for better vendor tracking, purchase planning, and reporting.

    Vendor Management & Industry Relationships

    • Leverage existing industry contacts and networks to secure favorable contracts and supply agreements.
    • Build, negotiate, and manage strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent supply at competitive prices.
    • Continuously evaluate supplier performance (quality, delivery, compliance) and maintain an updated database of approved suppliers.

    Operations & Productivity

    • Collaborate with finance, logistics, sales, and warehouse teams to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement.
    • Monitor stock levels and work closely with the supply chain team to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
    • Implement performance metrics for procurement efficiency (e.g., cost savings achieved, supplier lead times, on-time deliveries).
    • Conduct market research and benchmarking to stay ahead of FMCG price fluctuations, consumer trends, and supply chain risks.

    Compliance & Reporting

    • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and present procurement reports, budgets, and analyses for management decision-making.
    • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and use data analytics for improved decision-making.

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in procurement within FMCG, retail, or e-commerce sectors.
    • Proven track record of vendor and supplier relationship management in the FMCG/e-commerce industry.
    • Familiarity with procurement and inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, Zoho, or similar tools).

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to forecast, budget, and analyze cost efficiency.
    • High organizational and multitasking ability to set up a department in a startup environment.
    • Technology-driven approach to procurement and supply chain management.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working cross-functionally with multiple departments.
    • Integrity, accountability, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

    Reporting Line

The Procurement Officer will report directly to the Head of Operations / COO and work closely with Finance, Logistics, and Sales Departments.
