SPECIFICATIONS / TERMS OF REFERENCE / STATEMENT OF WORK

Introduction

Taimako Community Development Initiative is supporting the population with a critical water, sanitation and hygiene need will be reached with access to safe and sufficient water through rehabilitation of existing non-functioning water boreholes and construction of new solar powered borehole, provision of WASH NFIs and other hygiene promotion activities.  

The project Contract Packages;

1. Rehabilitation of existing non-functioning water facilities.
2. Construction of Water Facilities (Solar powered borehole)
3. Supply and delivery of project laptops.
4. Supply and delivery Menstrual Hygiene Management Kits
5. Supply and delivery of Covid-19 Relief Kits

1. Construction of disability inclusive handwashing pedals
2. Supply of hand washing liquids and alcoholic-based hand sanitizers.

1. Supply and delivery of IEC materials (including branded T-shirts and caps, posters, banners and flyers).
2. Radio services; airing of TCDI hygiene promotion programs and hygiene messages.

Taimako-CDI is currently in the process of prequalifying contracting firms with substantial presence and extensive experience within Northeast Nigeria, for construction of the specialised contract packages based on the major components mentioned above. The contracting firms will be working under the direction of Taimako-CDI field team headed by the Monitoring and Reporting officer and supervised by a technical team consisting of senior members from any of these agencies; WASH Cluster, RUWASA, LGA WASH UNIT, MoWR, and WASHCOM trained by Taimako-CDI.

Qualifications:

• Reputable corporate international / national organizations with 5 years of experience in some or all of the above activities.
• Proven track record with strong engineering (technical) and management team; (documentary of proof to be provided);
• Joint venture[1] partnership with reputed international/national organisations with expertise in construction of Water facilities.
• Good track record on the supply, delivery and construction of the above contract packages;
• Good track record and experience in construction and contract management;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for reporting and negotiating with relevant authorities;
• The institutional contractors must provide Taimako-CDI with:
  • Certificate of Incorporation/ documentation as a registered company or institution;
  • Evidence of similar works and undertakings
  • Evidence of availability of qualified personnel
  • Evidence of ability to mobilize qualified personnel
• Ability to mobilize international expertise to Nigeria

[1] 1 For the joint venture, association between Local and Foreign construction Firms are strongly encouraged particularly with respect to expertise in water desalination plants design and construction. Construction Firms may only associate with each other in the form of a joint venture or in a sub-contracting agreement to complement their respective areas of expertise to enhance their capacity to successfully carry out the assignment.
