Job Brief:

As a Farm Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing livestock and other farming activities to maximize yield and profitability. Your role involves managing resources, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and livestock care
• Coordinate brooding, pen preparations, biosecurity measures and general sanitation
• Develope and implement livestock production plans, schedules, and budgets to optimize productivity and profitability.
• Monitor livestock health, and environmental conditions to identify issues and implement corrective measures.
• Supervise and train farm workers, contractors, and seasonal laborers.
• Maintain and repair farm equipment, machinery, and infrastructure as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.
• Manage inventory levels of feeds, medicaments fertilizers, and other farm inputs.
• Monitor and control expenses to stay within budgetary limits.
• Implement sustainable farming practices to conserve resources and minimize environmental impact.
• Coordinate with agronomists, veterinarians, and other agricultural professionals as needed.
• Keep accurate records of yields, expenses, and revenue.
• Market farm and livestock products to buyers, distributors, or direct consumers.
• Stay informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments.
• Participate in livestock research, trials, or extension programs.
• Represent the farm in community events, agricultural fairs, or industry associations.
