JOB SUMMARY

• We are looking for a skilled and investment-savvy business manager to drive our Equity Trading, Fixed Income Trading, Commodity Trading and Capital Market Advisory services.
• He/She must be an Authorized Dealing Clerk Broker who understands the Macroeconomic environment and experience in trading equities, commodities and fixed income instruments.
• The Head, Securities Trading will be responsible for development business and formulating strategy, finding profitable investment opportunities, and advising clients in making sound investment decisions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Executes the mandate of the Board.
• Accountable for all Equity, Fixed Income and Commodity Market activities.
• Responsible for business development for Capital Market instruments including equity trades, fixed income trades and capital market advisory.
• Ensure compliance with rules and regulations governing the business and operations.
• Relationship management with HNIs and Corporate Organizations.
• Initiate and Implement key projects to improve service delivery and efficiency.
• Ensure cost effective services and value for money to customers.
• Responsible for the actualization of the organization goals and objectives.
• Initiate strategies to expand the business frontier.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends in the capital market towards driving and impacting the organization positively.
• Provide leadership and support to the staff in order to sustainable grow the business through learning, coaching and capacity development.
• Proactively monitor market trends, economic news and conditions in order to keep their clients informed about the direction of their investments.
• Preparation of marketing materials and representing the business at events.
• Provide business performance at monthly management meeting and group strategies sessions.
• Preparation of monthly Economic and Business Brief.

EDUCATION

• B.Sc/HND (Minimum of Upper credit) in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Management or any related field
• Authorized Dealing Clerk of the NGX Limited
• Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be proficient in the use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Excellent critical/strategic thinking and problem resolution skills.
• Critical thinking about macroeconomic investment ideas and forecasting methodology.
• Should possess understanding of equity, fixed income, commodity markets, the economy and macroeconomic correlations.
• Must be able to evaluate securities and discern value in the market.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Great understanding of trading analytics and data analysis.
• Strong business/financial acumen.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 7 years’ work experience in Equity Trading, Fixed Income Trading and with Capital Market experience at executive management level.
