• We are recruiting a Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with an exciting team of scientists under a TETFund MEGA research project entitled "Accelerated Development of COVID-19 Vaccine Using Next Generation Technologies”.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carrying out laboratory work in line with the objectives of the project’ using e.g. virology, cell culture, molecular biology, gene expression, proteomics and in vivo (mouse) experiments.
• Periodic reporting of progress in lab meetings and conference presentations.
• Writing of scientific papers for publications in world class peer reviewed journals.
• Training other researchers / postgraduate students where required.
• Supporting other activities of the group as determined by the Group Leader.

Note: The job specification may be reviewed in accordance with the changing needs of the project.

Critical Requirements

• PhD Degree in a relevant branch of Biosciences obtained not earlier than January 2017.
• Relevant publications in high impact journals.
• Experience with Bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques
• Ability to communicate effectively at scientific meetings and in writing papers.
• Age not more than 40 years.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience with cell culture and immunology techniques.
• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary research setting.
• Ability to effectively manage time and work with minimal supervision/under pressure.

Remuneration

• The successful candidate will be employed at a level equivalent to Lecturer II (CONUAS 3) in line with the University Research Policy.
• The exact monthly salary will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
• The successful candidate will be given a non-catering accommodation by the university.
