Physical Health Education (P.H.E) / Wellness Teacher at Taybuwtah International

Job Summary

• The ideal candidate is responsible for developing and delivering engaging and age-appropriate P.H.E. lessons that encompass physical skills, fitness, sportsmanship, and health education.
• This role requires planning, teaching, assessing, and inspiring students to develop a lifelong commitment to physical fitness and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize sports activities, competitions, and wellness programs to enhance student engagement.
• Support and uphold the values, vision, ethos, culture, and policies of the school.
• Maintain discipline, safety, and adherence to health guidelines during physical activities.
• Teach fundamental motor skills, sports-specific techniques, and fitness concepts in a safe and supportive environment
• Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and inter-house sports competitions, fostering a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Provide guidance on health education topics such as nutrition, personal hygiene, and mental well-being.
• Manage and maintain P.H.E. equipment and facilities effectively, ensuring they are safe and in good condition.

Teaching, Learning, and Assessment:

• Stay updated with curriculum developments and align lesson plans accordingly.
• Plan, prepare, and document lessons following the school curriculum.
• Ensure curriculum delivery is engaging, challenging, and appropriate for student needs.
• Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations and maintain assessment records.
• Maintain high expectations for student performance and achievement.
• Integrate literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy into teaching.
• Encourage student independence, leadership, and active participation in learning.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience.
• Knowledge of the Nigerian curriculum and experience with IGCSE/A-Level is an advantage.
• Proficiency in using technology for instructional and assessment purposes.
• Passion for health and physical education, with a commitment to student success.
