    Phonics Teacher

    Role Description

    • The Phonics Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based at the LBIS Ibadan campus.
    • This role involves planning and delivering engaging phonics lessons that support early reading and literacy development for young learners.
    • The Phonics Teacher will assess pupils’ progress, provide differentiated instruction, and use a variety of teaching resources aligned with the school’s curricula.
    • Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, maintaining accurate records of pupil achievement, collaborating with other teachers, and communicating regularly with parents and guardians about learners’ progress.
    • The Phonics Teacher will also participate in training, staff meetings, and school events to contribute to the broader school community.

    Qualifications

    • Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience in early years or primary literacy instruction, especially phonics.
    • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including designing structured phonics schemes and supporting colleagues in implementing best practices.
    • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to engage pupils, collaborate with staff, and maintain professional relationships with parents and guardians.
    • Relevant academic qualifications, such as a degree in Education, English, or a related field, and recognized teaching certification.
    • Experience with the English National Curriculum and, ideally, familiarity with integrating Nigerian curriculum requirements.
    • Demonstrated classroom management skills, patience, and a learner-centered approach that supports diverse learning needs.
    • Commitment to professional development, openness to feedback, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural school environment.
