    Operator - Winder

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a reliable and experienced Winder Operator to join our Process Department in Sagamu.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating the winding machine used in the paper or packaging production line.
    • This role requires attention to detail, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to monitor and adjust machine operations to ensure consistent product quality.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set up and operate the winder machine to convert jumbo rolls into smaller, usable rolls according to production specifications.
    • Monitor winding parameters such as tension, speed, and roll alignment.
    • Inspect finished rolls for quality, ensuring proper edge alignment, winding consistency, and label accuracy.
    • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major faults to the maintenance team.
    • Ensure accurate documentation of production data, including roll sizes, production time, and material usage.
    • Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
    • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience operating winding machines in a manufacturing or process environment (preferably paper, film, textile, or corrugation industries).
    • B.Sc. / HND / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
    • Good understanding of machine operations and troubleshooting.
    • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends if required.
