We are seeking to hire talented, creative, and editorially-sound multimedia journalists to work within our multiplatform newsroom.
As a Multimedia Journalist, you will be playing a critical role in shaping our digital content and leading engagement with our audience across platforms.
You will be part of a multiplatform newsroom that delivers high quality news content that suits our diverse audiences across print, TV, digital and radio.
Job Roles
To work with other members of the team to produce high quality content that meets professional standards;
To generate and contribute ideas for news and other content development across platforms;
To serve as reporter/producer and cover events and produce original content for newspaper, TV, radio and digital.
To write and/or prepare scripts, sub and/or edit copy for news report, bulletin or digital copies
To create attractive and engaging social media specific content including pictures, text, and videos
Requirements
Ability to write and speak English very well. Fluency in Hausa language is desirable but not compulsory
Thorough knowledge of the Nigerian media landscape and its challenges and prospects.
Understanding of social media journalism and the ability to create content that appeal to both digital and traditional platforms
Ability to work well as part of a diverse team – with editors, producers and other journalists.
Thorough knowledge of, and interest in, local, regional, and national as well as, where appropriate, international news and current affairs.
The ability to work without supervision and under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
Prior experience in a newsroom setting is an added advantage
