Job Summary

• We are seeking to hire talented, creative, and editorially-sound multimedia journalists to work within our multiplatform newsroom.
• As a Multimedia Journalist, you will be playing a critical role in shaping our digital content and leading engagement with our audience across platforms.
• You will be part of a multiplatform newsroom that delivers high quality news content that suits our diverse audiences across print, TV, digital and radio.

Job Roles

• To work with other members of the team to produce high quality content that meets professional standards;
• To generate and contribute ideas for news and other content development across platforms;
• To serve as reporter/producer and cover events and produce original content for newspaper, TV, radio and digital.
• To write and/or prepare scripts, sub and/or edit copy for news report, bulletin or digital copies
• To create attractive and engaging social media specific content including pictures, text, and videos

Requirements

• Ability to write and speak English very well. Fluency in Hausa language is desirable but not compulsory
• Thorough knowledge of the Nigerian media landscape and its challenges and prospects.
• Understanding of social media journalism and the ability to create content that appeal to both digital and traditional platforms
• Ability to work well as part of a diverse team – with editors, producers and other journalists.
• Thorough knowledge of, and interest in, local, regional, and national as well as, where appropriate, international news and current affairs.
• The ability to work without supervision and under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
• Prior experience in a newsroom setting is an added advantage

• Contribute to live broadcasts, providing on-air analysis and commentary on business news stories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience working as a Business Reporter or in a similar role within a media organization.
• Strong understanding of business and financial concepts, with the ability to translate complex information into accessible content.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in conducting interviews and synthesizing information from various sources.
• Knowledge of journalistic ethics and standards.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with digital media platforms and social media tools.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Summary

• As an assistant librarian, you will work with the chief librarian to manage the Media Trust Group library, it’s digital archive and conduct research and data mining to support the work of our journalists and the company in general.

Job Roles

• To work with chief librarian to efficiently manage the library
• Ensure that the library’s resources are kept in good condition and directed to the right channel
• Facilitates access to information and resources within a library.
• Manage databases and curate collections
• Support editorial staff and other arms of the group with research and data mining
• Work with the business department to manage requests from external clients and researchers
• Support learning, research, and exploration for library members and occasional visitors.
