    Medical Director

    Job Summary

    • The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing all clinical operations within the medical facility, ensuring high standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • This leadership role involves collaborating with department heads to implement clinical policies and protocols, managing medical staff performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to quality patient care, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and oversee all clinical operations and medical services, ensuring adherence to high standards of patient care.
    • Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement clinical policies, protocols, and procedures that enhance patient safety and care quality.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of medical staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
    • Manage recruitment, retention, and training of high-caliber medical professionals.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in patient care through effective mentorship and support.
    • Liaise with hospital management to align clinical operations with business objectives, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
    • Develop strategic initiatives aimed at improving clinical quality and operational efficiency.
    • Ensure adherence to ethical, legal, and professional standards in all medical practices.
    • Monitor compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices, updating policies as necessary.
    • Establish protocols for handling medical emergencies and ensure staff are well-trained for such situations.
    • Lead the hospital's response to public health emergencies and epidemics.
    • Foster relationships with external medical institutions and participate in relevant boards and committees.
    • Represent the hospital in professional networks, conferences, and community engagements to promote its services.

    Requirements

    Educational Qualifications:

    • Medical degree (MBBS) required.
    • Postgraduate specialization in a relevant field (e.g., Internal Medicine, Surgery) preferred.
    • Valid medical license to practice in Nigeria; Fellowship or Board certification in a relevant specialty is an advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in clinical practice with at least 10 years in leadership roles within a healthcare setting.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments.
    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
    • Ability to make critical decisions and solve complex problems efficiently.
