    Medical Director (Consultant)

    Location: Maryland, Lagos

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    • To ensure the effective running of the organization by implementing competitive strategies, global best practices, and procedures.
    • To ensure the overall profitability of the organization.
    • To present monthly Profit and Loss to the Board of Directors, and execute remedial actions where necessary.
    • Managing the healthcare organization’s budget.
    • To ensure good working relationships with all stakeholders: Board of Directors, patients and employees.
    • Act as the medical expert in dealings with vendors, and non-medical facilities that work in the organization.
    • Works directly with providers to educate them on our care process and determine what can be done to improve overall care quality.
    • Holds regular clinical staff meetings to keep the team informed as to the goals of the Clinic and any changes in policy or procedures. Regularly solicits feedback on areas that need improvement.
    • Oversees the activities of group physicians, including the recruiting and credentialing process
    • Participate in various administrative and clinical staff meetings.
    • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations in dealing with employees.
    • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to participants, medical staff, and employees.
    • Assisting in training and promotion of the medical staff
    • Ensuring that the medical staff and facility comply with federal rules, regulations, and codes.
    • Enhancing cooperation between nurses, physicians, and relevant medical departments
    • Fostering healthy relationships with suppliers, as a way of keeping the hospital stocked.
    • Evaluating the coordination of the medical team, to ensure the success of the Institution.
    • Definitive training program including manuals and hands-on exposure developed and updated regularly
    • Ensures used equipment promptly and properly cleaned up
    • Maintains an objective and somewhat neutral stance while handling conflicts between staff members…and between doctors and staff.
    • Responsible for excellent teamwork and cooperation between all members of staff.
    • Helps the clinical staff stay focused on the practice purpose and goals and instills discipline by providing prompt necessary feedback to clinical team members who show any regular work or attitude deficiencies
    • Ensuring that licenses are up to date, thus preventing the prosecution/termination of the hospital’s services to the public.

    Requirements

    • Must be a Consultant
    • 8 - 15 years work experience.
