Mathematics Teachers (Primary and Secondary) at TAAS College

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in Mathematics across Junior and/or Senior Secondary levels (JS1–SS3).
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations (e.g., BECE, WAEC, NECO).
• Design lesson plans in alignment with the school's curriculum and national/international standards.
• Integrate technology and real-world applications into teaching to make learning practical and relevant.
• Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify and support students with varying learning needs.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a conducive learning environment.
• Collaborate with other staff members in planning and staff development activities.
• Participate in extracurricular programs and contribute to the overall growth of the school.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and academic performance.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field (B.Ed., B.Sc. with PGDE, etc.).
• 2–3 years of experience teaching Mathematics in a secondary school setting.
• Sound knowledge of the Nigerian curriculum and examination standards (WAEC/NECO).
• Strong command of classroom management and lesson delivery techniques.
• Proficiency in digital tools and virtual teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically.

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to use innovative and student-centered teaching methods.
• Experience with differentiated instruction for mixed-ability classrooms.
• Capability to prepare students for external competitions (e.g., Mathematics Olympiads, Cowbellpedia).
• Familiarity with international curricula (British IGCSE, Cambridge) is an added advantage.
