Main Duties/ Tasks:
- Supervise all repairs and maintenance work in the property and projects.
- Follow up preventive maintenance schedule and update all records.
- Responsible for maintaining safety in the property to protect the guest, staff and equipment.
- Coordinate with store keeper to maintain adequate stock of spare parts and material for all property equipment.
- Responsible to conduct of training session for the staff in electrical/ mechanical safety and energy plan.
- All records and logs related to operation, maintenance and safety check to be updated and acknowledge by MM.
- To check wastage and ensure optimum usage of material in the operation
- To observe and report energy wastage
- To assist the MM in every aspect of the operation as requested
- To supervise technicians under his responsibility for performance, quality of workmanship and attendance at work
- To prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with workload and priorities for the approval by the MM
- To monitor attendance at work, cleanliness of uniforms of all employees working in guest areas and job performance
- To perform, at least twice weekly, routine inspection of all engineering operational areas (plant-rooms) and report any equipment malfunction to the MM
- To control and verify all Maintenance logbook entries
- To ensure all safety regulations are being strictly observed
- To monitor implementation of all energy conservation procedures and report any irregularities and noncompliance to the MM
- To check timely completion of maintenance requests paying particular attention to guest related jobs
- To control and maintain necessary spare parts stocks for all equipment and systems
- To control and maintain necessary tools and consumable materials
- To report to the MM any abnormal conditions noticed at any time with life safety related equipment or installations
- To supervise the employees in the department, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained as stated in the Department’s Operations Manuals
- To ensure that the Department’s Operational Budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled
- To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s Rules and Regulations
- To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s Policy relating to Fire, Hygiene and Safety
- Carry out any duties as specified and request by MM.
- Mange day to day operation in the absence of MM.
Other Duties/ Tasks:
- To ensure that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
- To assist in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
- To demonstrate pride in the workplace and personal appearance at all times when representing the hotel thus identifying a high level of commitment.

- Ensure that incidents/ accidents are reported without any delays
- Ensure that QHSE – FSMS related training programs are executed identify training requirements of employees and coordinate with concerned trainers (internal) to execute training
- Ensure that QHSE – FSMS related records are maintained and updated participates in incident investigation process
- Plans and coordinate with OH&S officers to conduct mock drills with respect to Occupational health & safety
Occasional Duties/ Tasks:
- To report any equipment failures/ problems to the Maintenance Department
- To pass any maintenance requests to the Maintenance Department
- To participate in any Training/ Developments schemes as recommended by senior management
- To assist the Duty Manager in any task outlined/ detailed by him/her
- To comply with any reasonable request made by management to the best of your ability
Shifts, Vacation & Days Off
- Working hours: Morning: 08:00 hours - 17:00 hours or as per schedule
- Afternoon: 15:00 hours - 24:00 hours or as per schedule
- Night: 23:00 hours - 08:00 hours or as per schedule
- Shifts may vary depending on the business demands!
Day Off: 1 ½ days off per week, this may change on a weekly base!
Vacations:
- Vacation requests must be handed minimum one month prior to the vacation, unless personal circumstances hinder this
- Vacation approvals are on the discretion of the department head, HR department and General Manager
- Vacations demanded by the department head on the basis of business requirements are to be taken
Personal Requisite
- Language: Fluent in English, multilingual ability preferred.
- Education: High School diploma, Mechanical Engineering and/ or electrical engineering certificate
- Experience: 7 to 10 years’ experience in overall operation
- Computer knowledge: MS Office applications other software as required
Personal appearance: The uniform should be worn with pride and dignity.
The uniform must be kept clean, tidy and well maintained.
Any careless use, wilfully or negligently, will be the sole responsibility of the employee, which will have to cover all expenses related to the repair/ replacement or additional cleaning outside the regular one.
The personal appearance according to the Hotel standard must be adhered to at all times.
