    Sales Development Representative (SDR)

    Role Overview

    The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for creating qualified sales opportunities by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers.

    This role sits at the frontline of revenue, working closely with Growth, Marketing, and Sales to turn inbound and outbound leads into sales-ready conversations.

    Your success is measured by meetings booked, lead quality, and pipeline contribution.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead Prospecting & Research

    • Identify and research target companies and decision-makers (HR, Finance, Founders)
    • Build and manage targeted prospect lists based on ICP guidelines
    • Prioritize accounts with high payroll and workforce complexity

    Outbound Outreach

    • Execute daily outbound activities via:
      • Cold calls
      • Email outreach
      • LinkedIn messaging
    • Personalize outreach based on company size, role, and pain points
    • Consistently follow up to drive responses and engagement

    Lead Qualification

    • Engage prospects to understand:
      • Payroll size and structure
      • Current payroll challenges
      • Buying intent and urgency
    • Qualify leads based on agreed SQL criteria
    • Disqualify poor-fit leads early to protect sales efficiency

    Meeting Booking & Handoff

    • Book qualified meetings for Account Executives or Sales Leads
    • Ensure clean handoff with proper context and notes
    • Prepare prospects for productive discovery calls

    CRM & Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records of all activities in CRM
    • Log calls, emails, outcomes, and next steps
    • Track performance against daily and weekly targets

    Collaboration & Feedback

    • Work closely with:
      • Growth & Demand Manager (lead quality feedback)
      • Marketing (messaging & campaign alignment)
      • Sales (qualification standards)
    • Share objections and insights from the market

    Tools & Platforms

    • CRM (Brevo, Pipedrive, or similar)
    • LinkedIn Sales Navigator
    • Apollo.io or similar prospecting tools
    • Email outreach and call tools

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • 2–5 years experience in SDR, BDR, or outbound sales roles (B2B preferred)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Confidence making cold calls and handling objections
    • Ability to write clear, personalized outreach messages
    • Highly organized and target-driven
    • Familiarity with B2B SaaS or fintech sales is a plus
