Job Summary
The Maintenance, Repair & Overhauling (MRO) Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all vehicle maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities within the company to ensure optimal vehicle performance, operational reliability, and compliance with manufacturer and safety standards. The role also supports production, after-sales services, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair Operations
- Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for vehicles and automotive systems.
- Supervise diagnosis, repair, refurbishment, and overhaul of vehicles and major components.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical faults to minimize operational downtime.
- Establish maintenance schedules and service procedures.
Overhauling & Technical Management
- Manage complete vehicle and component overhauling processes.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications and engineering standards.
- Monitor technical performance and recommend improvements to enhance vehicle reliability.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning after overhaul activities.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise engineers, technicians, and workshop personnel.
- Allocate tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure quality workmanship.
- Provide technical guidance and conduct staff training programs.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate recurring technical issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed maintenance and overhaul records.
Resource & Cost Management
- Manage spare parts planning and inventory control.
- Prepare and monitor maintenance budgets.
- Optimize resource utilization to reduce operational costs.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with Production, Quality Control, Procurement, and After-Sales teams.
- Prepare periodic technical and operational reports for management review.
- Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- B.Sc./HND in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in automobile maintenance and overhaul operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes.
- Proven leadership and workshop management experience.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance/service management systems.
