Loan Recovery Officer at Ultraviolet Microfinance Bank

Job Summary:

The Loan Recovery Officer is responsible for monitoring loan repayments, identifying delinquent accounts, and initiating recovery processes to minimize non-performing loans (NPLs). The role involves working closely with borrowers, legal teams, and internal departments to ensure timely recovery and maintain healthy credit portfolio quality.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor loan portfolio to identify overdue accounts and ensure timely repayment by clients.
• Contact delinquent borrowers via calls, emails, field visits, and official notices to negotiate repayment terms.
• Analyze default trends and recommend strategies to reduce bad debts and credit risk exposure.
• Initiate and manage recovery actions, including loan restructuring, rescheduling, and legal proceedings where necessary.
• Maintain accurate recovery records, logs, and reports for internal and regulatory purposes.
• Liaise with legal officers and external recovery agents when required.
• Prepare periodic reports on recovery status, performance metrics, and portfolio at risk (PAR).
• Recommend write-offs or provisioning in line with company policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Support credit officers in assessing repayment capacity and ensuring proper loan documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, ethical standards, and relevant financial regulations.
