    Line Chef

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a reliable and skilled Line Chef to join our kitchen team at ON THE RUN RESTAURANT.
    • The Line Chef will be responsible for preparing meals according to our standard recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
    • The ideal candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen, follow kitchen procedures, and maintain high hygiene standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes and instructions from the Head or Sous Chef
    • Set up and stock your workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment before service (mise en place)
    • Ensure dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet presentation and taste standards
    • Maintain cleanliness and order in your assigned section during and after service
    • Properly handle and store food items to minimize spoilage and waste
    • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines as set by the kitchen and health authorities
    • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and coordinated service
    • Support other kitchen sections when necessary, especially during peak hours
    • Notify supervisors immediately of any equipment malfunctions or ingredient shortages
    • Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies when required

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

    • Food Quality and Presentation: Maintain 90%+ consistency in food presentation and taste per recipe standards
    • Station Cleanliness and Hygiene: Achieve 100% compliance with hygiene and food safety checks on your workstation
    • Speed and Timeliness: Ensure all dishes are prepared and ready within the standard preparation/service time
    • Waste Management: Keep food wastage below 5% by following correct portioning and storage practices
    • Teamwork and Communication: Maintain smooth coordination with team members during service with minimal errors or conflicts

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience as a Line Chef or in a similar role in a commercial kitchen
    • Basic culinary training or relevant kitchen experience
    • Understanding of kitchen safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
    • Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions precisely
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
