    LGA Coordinator

    Job Summary:

    The Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinator shall provide technical support at the local government level to various support staff who, in turn, support the multidisciplinary team within facilities and communities. The primary focus shall be on optimizing HIV testing services, retention rates, and viral load coverage. Additionally, the LGA coordinator shall monitor ART service delivery across all ACE-supported facilities within their respective LGAs to minimize missed opportunities. This will be achieved through regular technical assistance visits to all supported facilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide mentorship/supervision to case managers, data entry clerks, counsellor testers, adherence counsellors and other project staffs working to support ACE-6 activities in the LGAs, across the continuum of care and the differentiated models of care.
    • Responsible for performances across PEPFAR indicators in their supported LGAs both at facility and community and submission of program data daily and weekly and monthly.
    • Support monthly LGA cluster meetings to review project performances across target with the focal persons and develop continuous quality improvement plans for each of the LGAs.
    • Support safe and ethical models of care both at the facility and community that would efficiently achieve results thereby maintaining program fidelity.
    • Perform other assigned responsibilities as occasion depends by supervisors

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or competency required.

    Education and Experience:

    • A graduate with not less than 2- 3 years’ experience in HIV/AIDS/TB coordination activities and proven knowledge of health sector and development.
    • A clinical/ medical degree will be an added advantage
    • Ability to analyze and use site level granular data to identify gaps, develop and deploy remedial actions plans to improve services delivery
    • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian clinical setting, including government and non-government settings
    • Proven ability in supervising staff

    • Cultural Sensitivity – Respect the cultural environment in which a person is working and does not act in a manner that is outwardly offensive to the local community.
    • Non-discriminatory- Do not discriminate against persons based on sexual orientation or gender identity, age, preferred jobs, or behavioral habits.

    Language Skills:

    • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
    • Knowledge of Local Language preferred.
    • Demonstrated competency in public speaking.

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems, PowerPoint.
    • Other software routinely used by HALG.

    Work Environment:

    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    • The employee will be required to co-locate with local partners usually in the same office.
    • The employee is required to travel regularly to often insecure and limited-resource environments.
