    Legal Associate (Corporate/Dispute Resolution)

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Corporate Law

    • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate agreements, including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and shareholder agreements.
    • Provide legal support in corporate transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct due diligence for corporate transactions and advise on risk mitigation.
    • Offer legal advice on corporate governance, compliance matters, and corporate structuring.
    • Assist in drafting policies, legal opinions, and memoranda on corporate law-related matters.
    • Assisting in writing minutes of board meetings

    Litigation Support

    • Assist in managing litigation cases, including research, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
    • Conduct legal research on case laws, statutes, and regulations to support case strategy.
    • Attend court hearings, trials, and depositions, and assist in trial preparation.
    • Coordinate with external counsel and other stakeholders during litigation proceedings.
    • Support in preparing witness statements, evidence collation, and discovery processes.
    • Provide assistance in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes, including arbitration and mediation.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • LL.B. from an accredited Nigerian university.
    • B.L. from the Nigerian Law School, with 4 years of post-call experience.
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate law and litigation processes.
    • Proven experience handling corporate transactions and managing court cases.
    • Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
