Lead the development of process engineering designs, calculations, and simulations, including Heat and Material Balances.
Ensure process designs meet safety, environmental, and technical standards, and relevant local regulations.
Oversee sizing and specification of process equipment, instruments, and piping systems.
Provide expert guidance on process optimization and troubleshooting.
Develop and validate process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
Perform process simulations and heat & material balance calculations using software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or PRO/II.
Perform hydraulic calculations for pumps, compressors, control valves, relief valves, and flare systems.
Design and specify process equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, separators, and pressure vessels.
Lead and oversee process engineering solutions for medium-to-large-scale projects within budget and schedule.
Develop and validate process simulations, heat and material balances, and process calculations.
Specify and size equipment, instruments, and process lines.
Develop and review process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and specifications.
Conduct multidisciplinary design reviews and ensure adherence to industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
Ensure seamless integration of process designs with other engineering disciplines.
Support construction, commissioning, and operations teams as needed.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
Lead training and mentoring initiatives for junior and graduate process engineers.
Intervene to stop unsafe acts and conditions in the workplace that could injure personnel or adversely impact the environment.
Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings.
Participate in U-See U-Act reporting, hazard identification, mitigation, or elimination.
Make safety presentations as may be assigned by HSE team.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
10+ years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas or EPC industry.
Professional qualifications: Chartered Engineer (IChemE, IEAust or equivalent), Professional Engineering Registration.
Technical competencies within the Process CSG area defined for this role.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, e-mail, and Intranet/Internet services. Competent with Seflam EMS (Enterprise Management System). Experience in conceptual and detailed design and in applying EDS/CAD systems, process simulation packages (such as HYSYS/UNISIM and PRO/11).
Able to apply document and data management and other project management-tracking system packages.
Sound communication skills; both oral and written; (both received and delivered).
Capability in planning and scheduling.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
