Job Instructor at Felton Energy Services Ltd (FESL)

About the Role:

• We are looking for seasoned Job Instructors to lead job instruction and competency development for operations personnel in alignment with the NLNG Operations Assessment and Progression scheme.
• This role is crucial for shaping both new and experienced operators by delivering structured training, refresher courses, and hands-on operational guidance. Candidates must possess deep plant knowledge and operational competence in both LNG Field and Console operations.
• The Company is a Gas Manufacturing Company engaged in the production of Liquefied Natural Gas, located in Bonny Island, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction & Training Delivery

• Deliver structured job instruction to new operations personnel in alignment with NLNG’s training and progression frameworks.
• Facilitate refresher training programs for experienced and senior operators to maintain high competency standards.
• Use a mix of classroom training, on-the-job instruction, and simulations to reinforce learning and operational excellence.
• Develop training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual aids tailored to plant operations.

Competency Development

• Support the technical growth and progression of operations personnel based on formal assessments and job performance.
• Monitor and evaluate trainee progress and readiness for more advanced roles within Field and Console operations.
• Maintain up-to-date records of training sessions, competency evaluations, and individual development plans.

Operational Excellence

• Instill best practices in safety, operations discipline, and emergency handling.
• Collaborate with operations teams to identify performance gaps and design targeted instructional interventions.
• Provide expert guidance and mentorship in plant-specific systems, tools, and emergency procedures.

Standards & Compliance

• Ensure training programs meet internal standards and comply with regulatory and industry requirements.
• Support audits and assessments related to training effectiveness and operational readiness.
• Champion continuous improvement in instructional delivery methods and training systems.

• Strong facilitation and technical instruction skills.
• Deep operational understanding of LNG processes and equipment.
• Ability to mentor, assess, and inspire operations personnel at all levels.
• Excellent communication, planning, and evaluation skills.
• Proficiency in using simulation tools, SOPs, and job task analyses in training delivery.
• Commitment to safety and process discipline.

Required Experience:

• 10 –15 years of experience in LNG plant operations.
• Proven capability in both Field and Console (DCS) operations.
• Experience in instructional delivery or operational mentoring in an industrial setting is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications:

• HND/Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Certifications in technical instruction, operations training, or LNG operations will be an added advantage.
