    Internal Auditor

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our team in Alausa–Ikeja, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the organization. The candidate must have solid experience in underwriting, with a strong understanding of HMO operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance processes, and risk management systems.
    • Review and evaluate underwriting processes to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
    • Identify areas of weakness or non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
    • Perform regular reviews of financial, operational, and administrative procedures.
    • Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.
    • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow up to ensure full compliance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen governance and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, HMO standards, and statutory requirements.
    • Support management in developing and updating audit frameworks, policies, and procedures.

    Requirements

    • B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
    • 5–10 years of relevant experience in internal auditing, with mandatory experience in underwriting within the HMO or insurance sector.
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the HMO/health insurance industry.
    • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
    • High level of integrity, objectivity, and professionalism.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and audit tools is an added advantage.
