About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and high-performing Head of Sales to lead our fast-growing sales operation across both online and offline channels. The ideal candidate has strong experience in retail finance, FMCG, microfinance, and distribution, with a deep understanding of agent-driven sales models.
This role involves managing a multi-layered sales structure that includes:
- Master Agents
- Super Agents
- Field Sales Agents
- Offline and Online Sales Teams
- In-store Reps, Enterprise Sales, and Digital Sales Channels
The Head of Sales must be strategic, data-driven, and capable of driving aggressive market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Structure Management
- Lead and oversee sales teams across all channels: offline, online, enterprise, diaspora, and in-store.
- Manage the entire agent ecosystem (Master Agent → Super Agents → Agents).
- Set clear KPIs, quotas, and performance expectations for each sales layer.
Team Development & Performance
- Develop weekly and monthly performance review systems for sales managers, team leads, and agents.
- Drive recruitment, onboarding, and training of agents, super agents, and sales reps.
- Conduct weekly strategy meetings with the sales management team.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute sales plans aligned with business goals.
- Expand the agent network and ensure active performance across assigned territories.
- Coordinate route-to-market strategies for agent-driven and direct sales models.
Reporting & Sales Accountability
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting from all sales units.
- , performance trends, and risk reports to management.
- Monitor sales funnels and ensure follow-through on leads (in collaboration with Customer Experience for CRM insights).
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Work closely with:
- Customer Experience → CRM insights, lead follow-up, reactivation campaigns
- Marketing → promotions, pricing, and lead generation
- Operations & Logistics → product availability and regional support
- Provide feedback on pricing, product demand, and customer behavior.
Requirements
- 4–6 years experience in retail finance, FMCG, microfinance, or distribution sales leadership.
- Experience managing large field teams, especially agent-based sales models.
- Strong market knowledge of South-South, South-East, and South-West regions.
- Proven track record in meeting revenue targets and scaling operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience with sales reporting tools and CRM-driven operations.
