    Head of Finance & Accounts / Audit & Tax Consultant

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
    • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports as required.
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor budget performance regularly.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and handle all tax-related matters, including filing tax returns and liaising with tax authorities.
    • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
    • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, benefits, and statutory deductions.
    • Utilise accounting software to maintain financial records and streamline financial processes.
    • Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information and provide support and guidance regarding financial matters.
    • Support in tax planning and compliance with all relevant tax legislations and procedures, resolution of all tax issues resulting from tax audits.
    • Proactive analysis and management of Company’s tax liabilities including all federal and state taxes.
    • Keep abreast of financial risk within Company’s treasury portfolio and explore financial instruments that may be utilised to mitigate risk.
    • Overseeing business insurance plans and coverage analysis, and maintenance of inventory of all fixed assets.
    • Plan and coordinate audit process.
    • Ensure completeness of audit working paper/file.
    • Review team members’ work for accuracy and compliance.
    • Perform effective risk and control assessments.
    • Present audit findings and find ways to increase compliance and efficiency.
    • Preparation of Management letter.
    • Handle client’s tax engagement portfolios and assignments.
    • Provide tax advice to clients and help with their tax compliance and tax planning.
    • Review and prepare corporate tax returns and computations.
    • Handle compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients.
    • Identify complex tax issues and provide tax scrutiny for a variety of entities and their affiliates.
    • Research and analyse wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and tax.
    • Manage, supervise and provide guidance to employees within the Finance and Accounting Department.

    What you’ll need:

    • A good first degree in Accounting, Finance and Economics with professional qualification (ACA/CPA/ACCA); master’s degree is an added advantage.
    • Proven experience as an auditor/tax consultant/accountant in reputable audit and tax advisory firm.
    • Hands-on knowledge on the use of TaxPro Max.
    • In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices.
    • Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and latest federal and state tax laws and regulations.
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office (especially Excel)
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Good communication skills – both written and verbal.
    • Analytical mind and attention to detail.
    • Inquisitive with a desire to probe further into data.
    • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • Organisational and leadership abilities.
    • Integrity and ethical behaviour in handling sensitive financial information.
    • Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience.
    • Must not be more than 35 years.
