    Head of Department (HOD), Midwifery

    Job Description

    • As the Head of Department for Midwifery, you will oversee the development and management of the Midwifery department at our upcoming nursing school. 
    • This role requires strong leadership abilities, a comprehensive understanding of midwifery education, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of academic excellence and clinical practice.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the midwifery curriculum in alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards.
    • Provide leadership and support to faculty members and administrative staff within the Midwifery department.
    • Ensure the integration of evidence-based practices and innovative teaching methodologies in midwifery education.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that promotes professional growth and student success.

    Requirements

    • Registered Midwife (RM) with a Master's Degree in Midwifery or a related field. A PhD in Midwifery or Education is advantageous.
    • Minimum of 4 years' experience in midwifery education or clinical practice, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
    • PGD in Education is required.
    • Proven experience in curriculum development, program assessment, and faculty development within a midwifery education context.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
