    Head, Capital Market

    Job Summary

    • Lead the development and execution of the company’s capital markets strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall growth, revenue, and market expansion objectives.
    • Originate, structure, and execute a broad range of capital market transactions, including commercial papers, bonds, and other debt and equity instruments for corporate and institutional clients.
    • Build and sustain strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders across the capital market ecosystem, including regulators, institutional investors, pension fund administrators, asset managers, and corporate issuers etc.
    • Drive business development and deal origination initiatives to expand the firm’s client base, strengthen the transaction pipeline, and enhance the firm’s competitive positioning in the market.
    • Deliver the firm’s capital markets revenue and budget targets through effective transaction execution, investor distribution, and strong client relationship management.
    • Provide strategic market intelligence and advisory to senior management on emerging opportunities, regulatory developments, and trends within the capital markets landscape.
    • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining effective engagement with relevant regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders.

    Job Details

    Origination and Execution of deals:

    • Identify and source new capital market mandates from potential and existing clients across debt and equity instruments, including commercial papers, bonds, and structured financing solutions.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, managing engagements from initial discussions and negotiations through to successful transaction closure.
    • Advise clients on capital raising strategies, including Commercial Paper issuances, bond issuances, Right issuances, Private placements, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), and public offerings.
    • Develop and maintain a robust transaction pipeline through proactive client engagement, market intelligence, and continuous monitoring of market opportunities.
    • Provide strategic oversight for the detailed analysis of clients’ financial statements, projections, and growth potential to appropriately position them for identified capital raising opportunities.
    • Stay abreast of relevant business, economic, and capital market developments, while identifying and communicating key trends, opportunities, and performance drivers relevant to clients.
    • Lead the structuring, pricing, and execution of capital market transactions in line with client objectives, market conditions, and regulatory requirements.
    • Lead negotiations with counterparties, structure transaction opportunities, and manage the internal approval process to secure necessary approvals for deal execution.
    • Oversee due diligence investigations and ensure all regulatory, legal, and internal governance requirements are satisfied prior to transaction completion.

    Strategy development and Business Performance management:

    • Provide strategic direction for Capital Markets business whilst aligning the objectives with overall Investment banking goals.
    • Take full responsibility for the financial performance of the Capital Markets segment of the Investment Banking unit.
    • Achieve growth by understanding Greenwich’s service lines and actively assessing/presenting ways to apply knowledge and services.
    • Continuously evaluate the external environment and assess the impact on the Business Unit’s activities. Where required, make any necessary changes to plans.

    Stakeholder engagement:

    • Proactively build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders including regulators, institutional investors, pension fund administrators, asset managers, and corporate clients.
    • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders being Head of Research, Head of other subsidiaries within the Group, etc.
    • Build and develop relationships across the firm with various stakeholders with the intention of breaking down silos to maximise business growth.
    • Provide specific subject matter knowledge to offer companies professional transaction experience by determining the right deal to do and assist them in executing the identified deal.

    Leadership:

    • Together with the Head of Human Resources and MD of GCML, determine the people strategy for the Capital Markets team with a focus on talent management, resourcing, development and retention
    • Oversee the moderation and relative distribution of performance appraisals in line with overall business performance for the area.

    Requirements

    • University degree in business-related discipline. 
    • Master’s degree in finance/related discipline or a recognized professional financial certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA) would be an advantage.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years cognate working experience. 
    • Be a SEC sponsored individual
