    Grant and Research Associate

    Role Overview

    • As we continue to expand our impact, we are seeking a highly analytical, research-driven, and detail-oriented Grant & Research Professional to support our fundraising ambitions, program scaling initiatives, external partnerships, and the development of data-backed strategic insights.
    • This position is critical to our growth roadmap, especially as we execute grant-funded projects, enter new markets, and strengthen our monitoring, reporting, and evaluation frameworks.

    Key Responsibilities
    Grant Prospecting & Research:

    • Conduct continuous research to identify relevant grant opportunities from local and international donors, foundations, development agencies, and private-sector funders.
    • Analyze eligibility requirements, funding priorities, timelines, and alignment with Shecluded’s mission.
    • Maintain a well-structured database of potential grants and funding opportunities.
    • Must Deliver  90% on all assign Grant target on both Volume and Amount.

    Proposal Development:

    • Lead the preparation, writing, and submission of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, letters of intent, and pitch documents.
    • Work closely with internal teams (Programs, Finance, Impact, Strategy) to gather information and develop strong narratives and budgets.
    • Ensure proposals meet donor guidelines and showcase the organization’s capacity, innovation, and measurable impact.

    Data Collection & Analysis:

    • Support program teams with research, data collection, and analysis to strengthen the evidence base for proposals and program design.
    • Track socio-economic trends, market shifts, gender-lens investment insights, and financial inclusion indicators.
    • Provide data-driven insights that influence program development, reporting, storytelling, and product innovation.

    Grant Compliance & Reporting:

    • Monitor grant timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure 100% compliance.
    • Prepare accurate and timely progress reports, financial narratives, and documentation for donors.
    • Maintain updated records, trackers, and grant files in alignment with internal and donor standards.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with Programs, Finance, Strategy, Marketing, and Impact teams to ensure grant activities align with organizational goals.
    • Support communication teams with data and content needed for storytelling, reporting, and donor visibility.
    • Work with the M&E team to develop indicators, frameworks, and impact measurement tools relevant to grants.

    Administrative & Operational Duties:

    • Keep detailed documentation of grant cycles, deadlines, submitted proposals, and commenced projects.
    • Must manage the grant  donor to deliver on 99% retention of all potential grants  donors and closing new grant opportunities.
    • Develop and update templates, tools, and guides for proposal development and research processes.
    • Support internal audits, donor audits, and organizational compliance checks.
    • You have a solid grasp of credit analysis, risk assessment, and financial statement interpretation.
    • You understand concepts like PD, LGD, ECL, credit scoring, loan performance drivers, and portfolio segmentation (or you’re excited to learn).
    • You can balance quantitative analysis with sound judgment.
    • You know how to translate data into clear decisions and actionable recommendations.

    Requirements

    • Conduct thorough credit assessments and analyze borrowers’ financial statements, cashflow, and repayment capacity.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Finance, Research, Public Policy, Statistics, Business Administration, or related fields.
    • Minimum of 2–4 years experience in grant writing, research analysis, project reporting, or similar roles within NGOs, donor-funded environments, or research institutions.
    • A proven track record of successful grant applications is highly desirable.
    • Experience working with donor agencies (Mastercard Foundation, USAID, GIZ, DFID, UN agencies, etc.) is an added advantage.

    Technical Skills We Value:

    • Experience with credit risk modelling or exposure to risk frameworks
    • Exceptional writing and communication skills (proposal writing, research papers, reports).
    • Strong analytical ability, with advanced research and information-synthesis skills.
    • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • High level of accuracy, organization, and documentation discipline.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
    • Familiarity with data analysis tools, M&E frameworks, and nonprofit reporting is an added advantage.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
    • Strong initiative, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
