GIS Business Executive (GIS Specialist) at Geospatial Research Ltd

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced GIS Business Executive (GIS Specialist) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS technologies and experience in facilitating training sessions. This role requires a proactive individual who can drive business growth, manage client relationships, and deliver exceptional GIS training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement GIS business strategies to drive growth and market presence.
• Facilitate comprehensive GIS training sessions for clients and internal teams.
• Manage and maintain client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data from various sources (government agencies, surveys, remote sensing, open-source repositories, etc.) 
• Develop and maintain spatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the GIS sector.
• Create high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations to communicate complex spatial information effectively.
• Collaborate with technical teams to design and deliver customized GIS solutions.
• Conduct market research to stay updated with industry trends and competitor activities.
• Analysing spatial data through the use of mapping software (ArcGIS Pro, QGIS
• Contribute to proposals and technical reports related to GIS applications. 
• Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and trends.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. in GIS and Remote Sensing or Master in Geographic Information Systems or related field.
• Relevant working knowledge of specialized software GIS packages: ArcGIS and QGIS including the deployment of field-based mobile data collection devices (i.e. ODK, CAPI, Kobo toolbox, etc.)
• Proven experience as a GIS Specialist with a strong understanding of GIS technologies and applications.
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating training sessions and developing training materials.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
