Purpose of the Job

• Support the acquisition and management of large-scale fiber infrastructure assets through GIS analysis. Manage GIS applications and infrastructure to derive value for competitive business objectives. Provide geospatial insights to proactively meet customer needs.

Key Activities

• Creates, tests, and enhances GIS operations; develops and administers web-based applications.
• Provides technical support for GIS projects, operates and maintains GIS software and web-based applications.
• Evaluates user requirements for GIS, prepares databases, maps, and reports, performs GIS analysis, modeling, and reporting.
• Conducts end-user training, establishes effective working relationships, and supports GIS-based reporting.
• Seeks areas to apply GIS tools for business requirements.

Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Geography, Surveying, Engineering (2.2/Upper Credit Minimum)
• Extensive knowledge of GIS, mapping tools (QGIS, Carto), database programming (SQL, R, Python), and GPS measuring tools.
• Outstanding quantitative skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and project management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Work Experience:

• Considerable knowledge and experience in automated mapping, geographic information processing, cartographic principles, GIS database design, and structure.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and CAD applications (Excel, LibreCalc, AutoCAD, FreeCAD, etc.).
