    Geography Teacher

    We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons that inspire curiosity and deepen students’ understanding of physical and human geography. The teacher will support students’ academic, social, and personal development while contributing to the school’s mission of excellence.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Geography lessons in line with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
    • Teach students concepts in physical geography, human geography, environmental management, map skills, and global issues.
    • Use a range of teaching methods and digital tools to promote active learning and critical thinking.
    • Assess, record, and report on students’ progress through tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
    • Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports effective learning.
    • Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, student grades, and classroom inventories.
    • Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students who need additional support.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, school events, field trips, and professional development activities.
    • Uphold school policies, safeguarding standards, and professional ethics at all times.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/HND in Geography Education, or a related field 

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong knowledge of physical and human geography concepts.
    • Ability to design engaging lesson plans and deliver effective classroom instruction.
    • Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in the use of educational technology, including digital maps, GIS tools, and multimedia teaching aids.
    • Ability to assess and monitor student progress accurately.
    • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
    • A passion for teaching and a commitment to students’ holistic development.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a reputable school (experience preparing students for standardized exams is an advantage).
    • Experience using modern teaching methodologies and ICT-integrated instruction.

    Additional Requirements

    • Must display professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethics.
    • Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with the academic team.
    • Willingness to participate in school programmes, excursions, and extracurricular activities.
