Food, Nutrition, Security and Livelihood Assistant - National Position
For our work in Maiduguri, Borno State Nigeria, Malteser International is looking for an experienced Food, Nutrition Security and Livelihood Assistant - National Position.
Under the direct supervision of the FNSL Manager, the Food Nutrition Security and Livelihood Assistant will be responsible for the implementation of FNSL activities in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria.
Within the responsibilities, the Assistant will need to ensure compliance with Malteser International’s and donor guidelines to implement FNSL intervention.
Your Responsibilities
Implementation of Food, Nutrition Security, and Livelihood Projects: Support needs assessments, beneficiary training, gender mainstreaming, monitoring of livestock and micro-gardening, and participate in partner coordination meetings
Data Collection, Reporting, and Compliance: Collect and analyze data, prepare reports, monitor project progress, propose improvements, ensure compliance, and coordinate internally and externally
Building Relationships with Local Partners and Community: Engage with local partners, community leaders, and beneficiaries to maintain positive relationships and ensure project alignment with community needs
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related tasks, ensure flexibility in daily activities, adhere to Malteser International’s principles, and report challenges and progress to supervisors.
Your Profile
At least 2 years of working experience with an INGO in a developing country and/or humanitarian context with a minimum of National Diploma in agriculture or Nutrition related field.
Excellent project management, partnership management, and coordination skills
Extensive field team management experience as well as security, safety, and resource management experience
Proactive, resourceful, solutions- and results-oriented, with a genuine interest in learning
Ability to work effectively with local governments, align with MI values and standards, and cope in stressful or hostile environments, including travelling to deep field locations and conducting partner visits
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the capacity to see the big picture and make sound judgments and decisions
Strong communication skills.
