Fleet Operations Officer at GIG Logistics

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Management & Operations

• Coordinate daily deployment and scheduling of vehicles for deliveries, pickups, and other logistics operations.
• Monitor driver assignments, vehicle utilisation, and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained in good working condition and report any issues promptly.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all vehicles have valid licenses, insurance, roadworthiness certificates, and other statutory requirements.
• Implement and monitor safety policies, driver compliance with traffic laws, and company regulations.
• Maintain accurate vehicle documentation and inspection records.

Maintenance & Repairs

• Track vehicle maintenance schedules (servicing, repairs, tyre changes, etc.) to minimise breakdowns.
• Liaise with workshops, mechanics, and vendors for repairs and spare parts procurement.
• Keep records of maintenance history and costs.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Use telematics or GPS tracking to monitor vehicle movement, fuel usage, and driver performance.
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports on fleet utilisation, expenses, incidents, and downtime.
• Investigate accidents or incidents and provide recommendations for prevention.

Cost Control & Efficiency

• Monitor fuel consumption, identify patterns of wastage, and enforce controls to reduce costs.
• Support in planning routes to optimise delivery times and minimise operational expenses.
• Recommend strategies for improving fleet efficiency.

Team Support & Coordination

• Work closely with logistics, warehouse, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide guidance and support to drivers, including orientation on company policies.
• Resolve operational challenges affecting fleet performance.
