Financial Model Auditor at Independent Project Monitoring Company Limited (IPMC)

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Model Auditor to join our team. The Financial Model Auditor will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial models used for decision-making, forecasting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, a deep understanding of financial principles, and experience in auditing or reviewing complex financial models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough audits and reviews of financial models to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Validate assumptions, formulas, and calculations within financial models.
• Identify and document errors, inconsistencies, and potential risks in financial models.
• Collaborate with financial analysts, model developers, and business stakeholders to understand model objectives and methodologies.
• Provide recommendations for improving model design, structure, and controls.
• Ensure models align with best practices and industry standards.
• Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and suggested corrective actions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining model audit frameworks, checklists, and guidelines.
• Stay updated on relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and modeling techniques.
• Support training and knowledge-sharing initiatives related to financial modeling and auditing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, ICAN, FRM) are a plus.
• Proven experience in financial modeling, auditing, or financial analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software/tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and valuation techniques.
• Experience with risk assessment and internal controls is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with VBA, Python, or other programming languages used in financial modeling.
• Knowledge of industry-specific financial models (e.g., banking, real estate, energy).
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Basel III, IFRS, or GAAP.
